CPTED Canada

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design

About Us

Who We Are

CPTED Canada is a not-for-profit, educational and networking organization dedicated to the promotion of CPTED principles. CPTED Canada developed from CPTED Ontario which was founded in 2001.

Our membership is drawn from a diverse group of professionals which is reflective of the multi-disciplinary nature of CPTED itself. This includes designers, planners, police, security professionals, academics, elected officials, and a diverse group of people who actively promote and/or participate in crime prevention initiatives within their local community.

CPTED Canada is guided by the following Mission and Vision Statements as well as our Code of Conduct.

Mission Statement

To reduce the fear and incidence of crime thereby working towards an improvement of the quality of life by promoting Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) throughout Canada.

What We Do

CPTED Canada’s vision is to promote safe community design through advocacy, education and networking.

How We Do It

CPTED Canada provides resource materials through educational materials, blogs and an active website, hands on training, conferences and zone meetings. All resources cover a wide variety of themes and topics that will help educate and promote CPTED Canada’s three Principles.
