CPTED Canada 2026 National Conference
Theme: CPTED: Reimagining Community Safety

📅 April 23–24, 2026

CPTED Canada is excited to announce our 2026 National Conference, bringing together practitioners, researchers, planners, architects, law enforcement, and community leaders from across Canada and beyond. This two-day event will explore how Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) continues to evolve and how communities can reimagine safety in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable ways.

We are seeking dynamic speakers to share their expertise, case studies, and innovative practices that highlight the impact of CPTED in creating safe, vibrant, and resilient communities.

Topics of Interest

We welcome proposals that address, but are not limited to:

  • First, Second, and Third Generation CPTED in practice
  • Innovations in natural surveillance, access control, territoriality, and maintenance
  • Social cohesion, connectivity, and community culture in safety planning
  • CPTED and equity: inclusive design for diverse communities
  • Case studies from municipalities, housing, parks, schools, or commercial spaces
  • Trauma-informed design and placemaking
  • Technology, data, and CPTED in the digital age
  • Integrating CPTED with Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plans
  • Partnerships between municipalities, non-profits, developers, and law enforcement
  • International perspectives on CPTED

Speaker Formats

  • Keynote Presentations (45–60 minutes)
  • Concurrent Sessions (30–45 minutes)
  • Workshops (90 minutes)
  • Panel Discussions (60 minutes)

Submission Guidelines

Please submit your proposal including:

  • Presentation title and format
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Speaker bio (100–150 words)
  • Learning objectives (3–5 points)

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: October 31, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: November 30, 2025
  • Conference Dates: April 23–24, 2026
